Go with the hooker. I've heard a magnaflow crossflow style muffler and it is way to quiet, sounds like a stock muffler with the converter removed. Pops way to much and has no aggressive tone whatsoever. Loudmouth without a resonator is also a bad choice.

I have the Hooker. It's got a little volume during normal driving...I've had a few ricers sadly mistake me for a V6 at night (black car) when they have their shitty stereos turned up. Once the light turns green they know I'm a V8. The Hooker does get pretty damn loud @ WOT. It's got a good aggressive sound and the price can't be beat.

if ur gonna get headers and an ory its the way to go. If your not gonna get headers its gonna sound Very stock. I have it with headers and a catted y and it does the job for me. IMO sounds alot better than my buddies header/ory/loudmouth.

I had it on my car when I had hooker mid's, I had a friend that has LT's and the loudmouth, he posted several times how much more aggressive his setup is compared to mine, that the hooker was the stock muffler with different tips...I think its just envy because he spent so much money on a trashy cat back

Loudmouth !cats = the ls1 fartcan setup

I like Magnaflow better, it flows really well and it's stainless steel so it won't rust. It's quiet at idle but has a nice loud tone at WOT. I've also had the Loudmouth on my 94 T/A and it was nice at first but annoying for highway cruises and was just to raspy.

I'm confused...magnaflow doesn't make a crossflow muffler that I'm aware of. I've had the magnaflow with many different exhaust setups and it NEVER pops. It has a very deep tone and is MUCH louder than stock. Maybe you heard a magnaflow that was recently installed. They are as quiet as stock when brand new, but get MUCH louder when broken in. Given a few hundred miles, they get much louder. In fact, I wouldn't want anything louder. Exhaust mods are very subjective obviously. The magnaflow is a little better flowing/louder than the hooker. The hooker however is a great flowing muffler, and sounds good. You can compare them on www.ls1sounds.com.

It's not the magnaflow that makes a car pop, it's the gutted cats. Gutted cats will make your car pop no matter what muffler you have. As far as the cars you've heard with magnaflow's sounding stock, I'm confused. My car definately doesn't sound stock.

I have the Hooker as well and love the sound. At WOT they get it. Mine is stock right now but on Friday new Pacesetter LTs & TSP catted Y go on. Go in and listen to the sound clips for external engine mods. Stealth with an attitude is my goal.
