I asked the same question to a couple of performance shops that are sponsors here. they said unless you running a big block or bored over the single exhaust performs fine and the only diffence with dual is the sound.

Also look at it this way many of the 800+hp turbo ls1 are still on single exhaust!

thats my 2cents. If some knows different cool!

don't listen to the performance shops you have. here's the dyno from the wife's car. borla 3" adjustable vs bassani tru-duals. both on stock tune.

Not to be a dick but just givin my 2cents in.........the physics of a turbo exhaust system aren't the same as the physics on a N/A system...

If you plan on doin a camshaft or more with supporting mods(intake, headers, etc.) then I would strongly recommend going with a true dual system. When I bought my car it was already equipped with an outstanding cat-back(GMMG) and I didn't want to put that exhaust to waste so I kept it and ordered headers and a Y-pipe. If the car had the factory cat-back, then I would of definitely went with a dual set-up...
A single exhaust system is typically cheaper then a dual set-up exiting behind the axle, but the dual like the bassani makes more HP.
P.S. get the Pacesetter's over the SLP's
just my $.02

For a bolt-on car I don't think there's a huge hp gain going with true duals. People have definately gained a measurable amount with true duals on cammed or H/C cars. Even a bolt-on car will gain some hp with a properly sized true dual exhaust over a regular 3" catback.
