I actually stole the idea from someone else... I did tweak it a little though...

I think you'll get tired of it after a little while...with as much oil that comes out of these engines, that little thing will fill up quick.

Here is a complete write up of what you will need:

Husky air compressor filter from Home Depot - Store SKU # - 401910

2 male/female 1/4" brass elbow connectors - Watts part # - PB116

2 male 1/4" to 3/8" brass nipple connectors - Watts part # - PB225

1" wide X 3' long piece of aluminum stock

1 roll of teflon tape

2 self tapping screws that fit the filter

3 feet of 3/8" fuel line hose

Every thing was bought at home depot except for the hose...

I found that it works even better with that little filter removed. Also, once it fills about half way up it seems to stop working, so dump it then. If you think that the LS1's are bad for this check out the pics on the bottom of this link I've dumped it 3 times since September.

Hehe...took me awhile to find it to. Nice. I can't believe you didn't fork over the $120 and buy the real deal though. This sucks. I figured GM would have fixed this problem on the LS2's!

Looks good, but depending on your blow by, you might need to drain that prety often. The AMW was a bit expensive, but it holds a good amount.

you can get the more expensive husky filter it holds more, has 3/8 npt openings already, has a drain nipple, and is only 20 bucks(5 bucks more)

i think i may go this route

My $10 filter has a drain nipple too...

I am not too worried about it filling up...

I look under my hood at least once a week and it is pretty easy to drain...

Default just installed diy can

I just installed my diy can. amazingly, my fresh air line was clean, and the pcv had almost no oil sitting in it or in the lines. I must be lucky w49k on the car. any way, its easy, for now i left off the pcv, but wil put it on if I need to. Put i will be interesting to see how much oil pulls thru. Now I can seafoam!

wuh?

You left off the PCV?

Also did you expect to find oil/sludge sitting in the hose? Its called positive for a reason... air is blowing through it, bringing the oil with it....

some people say they suck so much oil thru that it puddles in the lines. The reason I left off the pcv is I tore the rubber boot around the pcv, so I ran a 3/8 line from the hard line along the valve cover into the littl husky can, then from the can into the intake where the pcv originally connected. Once i get a new boot I can install the pcv between the intake and filter, or where should it be. I really don't see a reason to have the pcv since the can has a filter in it and it flows good. any opinions
