Default 1 7/8 headers vs. 1 3/4

I recently got an amazing deal on a set of headers..... they are 1 7/8" instead of the 1 3/4 inch... i have a cartek 2x setup.... however, stock displacement.... am I sacrificing anything with these???

You're gonna lose some TQ down low. Not sure that it'll affect peak HP though as compared to 1 3/4.

i was just kidding. everyone thinks 90mm intakes and 1 7/8 headers are overkill on stock cube motors. but i'm only bolt ons and am looking for a set of 1 7/8.

I'm thinking one I put 4.10's in, I won't mind the slight tourque loss, either way i'm thinking it will be better than the stock manifolds...

Like mentioned above, will lose just a td bit of low end power but not enough to be noticeable. You might get a little higher peak numbers due to the opened up flow. I got some 1 7/8 KOOKS that are about to go on and to compensate im gonna swap a gear and get a nice low end torquey cam to compensate

your car will love the juice with the 1 7/8 headers if you wind up going the n2o route as well.

well, i'm thinking about slapping a procharger on in another year... but I just want to make sure... it isn't stupid to use these headers.... I guess what I want to know is, would it be worth spending an extra 300 dollars to go to 1 3/4????

also, what kind of time difference would I see in the quarter between the two?

what everyon'es saying is that they'll lose torque over the 1 3/4" headers due to lower exhaust velocity.. not lose over the stock manifolds

how noticable will it be? and will the extra top end power make up for the loss down low?
