Default mid length or shorties ?

ok Im looking at a set of mid length and shorties and see little or no difference. my first question is what is the difference ? next question is can I go full length or LTs without sacraficing clearance , as I am sporting sportlines and Im sitting pretty low. and finally which would best compliment a turbo application ?

I don't think you could do longtubes with a 2" drop and have any decent amount of ground clearace. Go witht the mid-length tubes, shorties won't net much power, your stock manifolds on your 2001 SS are actually better flowing than you think. Shorties wouldn't be a good $-power investment.

damn the bad luck sucks you cant have it all heh? so whats the dif between mids and shortys since I cant see much of a difference at all visually ? I have been leading towards the mids anyhow because the car is lowered and I had shortys on my old car a 2000 SS. and lost a lot of low end and gained a little high end. will I still lose low end with the mids ?

im lowered with LTs, never had clearence problems. LTs might be fine if u run a sts kit, but if u will have a turbo in the bay then u shouldnt worry about headers.

Just got to find some LT's that tuck up really nice. Most of them do. I would stay away from SLP's cause they hang way to low. Other than that its up to you and your budget.

one of the locals in vegas has an STS, and he switched his SLP LTs to the stock manifolds; said they were better for turbos. he's a turbo guru and pushing about 625 rwhp so maybe you don't need exhaust manifolds if you plan on re-installing that STS.
