Default ASP Pulley.

Who has had trouble with it? I had it on for 5 months, in the last two it's destroyed two belts, and I mean completely destroyed. I have check the pulley out several times making sure it on right, also checking every other day making sure the belt are in their proper place, but still that has happend. This week my alternater went out. Now, I am not saying the pulley had anything to do with the alternator, but I am starting to wonder. I never had to replace the belt back when i had the stock pulley so I'm wondering if I have installed a defective pulley? They pulley was new and I also installed a new ARP crank bolt, so i don't know what could be wrong. What do you all think?

What do you mean "destroyed"? Like ripped apart? If so, I'd check for any sharp edges on the pulley or any obstructions the belt might come in contact with.

I have had mine for over 15,000 miles no problem. Something is not right on yours. Definately look the crank pulley over good. Does the pulley wobble when the car is idling? Are you sure you got it on all the way?

My alternator went out a week after I first had the pulley put on. You installed it to ASP's specs correct?

The belt is torn in half, shreads all over the place. I have inspected the pulley serveral times and their are not sharp edges. When at idle, the pulley looks fine does not vibrate at all. I'm guesssing it slips off when I'm driving some how get caught somewhere. We'll see what happends with belt number three. Thanks you all.

Your tensioner might just be even worse off than mine was. See if you can move it with your hand. It shouldnt be that loose.

Sounds like a tensioner might not be working properly and letting the belt skate on you. Just a question...not to offend but are you putting the belt on right?? The reason I ask is because I ACCIDENTALLY ran mine the wrong way and it made the crank bolt back off...the belt started to skate and it shredded the edges. Had to get a new ASP pulley as well because of the wobbling ruined it.
