From reading your thread, a cam swap may be a little much for you right now.
If all you want is a louder car, a $40 3" Flowtech exhaust cutout (Summit Racing or JEGS online), welded into your car's I-pipe (another $20) will meet your goals (louder car).
If you want a cam swap;
Ballpark off the top of my head....
Cam: $350ish
Springs: $150ish
PR's: $120ish
Tune: $250ish
(And that's not taking a few things into account, like the need for Long Tube Headers to get the most out of your cam- $400ish, Y-pipe- $200ish).

I did a cam, stall converter, headers, custom Y-pipe, new valve springs, titanium valve guides, new timing chain, etc. for 3690.00. You might want to wait after your 36k miles before you do anything, including the td if you chose that to not void your factory warrenty. Just a cam and headers shouldn't cost more than 2500.00. The custom td will be at least 1500.00+. Why not spend a little more and get 80+ hp compared to the td with maybe 20 rwhp. Good luck

LTs and Y pipe will get you into the 330-350rwhp range. Higher in the range if you do most your bolt-ons (i.e. Underdrive Pulley, Ported Throttle Body, Lid...). Considering that your car is probably anywhere from 290-310rwhp stock, it's a worthwhile investment. LT's are the foundation for future mods.

A cutout can be added to your stock exhaust no problems. It would be the cheapest, easiest introduction to modding.

Between you and me, cam guy is a pushing the cam option a 'lil too hard on ya. But if that's a direction you want to pursue, all the power to ya.

Yea dont get a cam right now as you dont have the supporting mods to make the most of it. Without headers you will just be choking out a big cam like the 230/236 mentioned above. Get some coated pacesetter headers (I believe there is a groiup purchase ont hem right now) and an ORY with 02 simms and swap out the flowmaster for a mangaflow muffler or a hooker aerochamber. That would really wake you exhaust up and would cost about $400 for the headers, $100 for the ory, and about $80 for the muffler (magnaflow or hooker aerochamber). You can install the headers yourself and the ory and then have the muffler welded in inplace of the flowmaster. Thats what I would do if i were in your situation.

Yea, don't worry about the cam. You can make it plenty loud without going through all the trouble of putting a cam in. You'll need headers if you decide to put a cam in down the road anyway. Headers, off-road y-pipe, and a cutout and you'll be pretty loud.

I agree with everything except the slp LT's, they hang so low its rediculous, my buddy had to scrap his after 1 1/2 years because they were leaking so bad from hitting everything with them. Final straw was when he hit a raised manhole cover and almost tore the ehaders right off his engine block. He has since switched to hooker headers and has had no problems. But yea i have mac mids, gutted cats, and slp lm and it sound just plain nasty, and is loud as hell.

Would not recommend SLP LT's myself (having owned a set). They're outperformed by Grott based LT's (most other brands). Most other brands offer good clearance also. And with most other brands, you don't have to pry the tranny over to install (with SLP's it's prybar time! ).

Definitely LT's & Loudmouth. Too loud for some, just right for me. I'm going to put in a bigger cam (F13), heads, and intake on before going true dual.

"Gutted Cats" are stock catalytic converters that have been reemed out with a screw driver or other sharp implement of choice in order to make 'em breath better. Just get a set of High Flow cats (I have SLP's, and if you choose those, get some better band clamps that the ones that come with the header install kit).

You can pass inspection in most states with an ORY, because they're behind the Cats (Cat-Back), and you're allowed to mess with that stuff in most states; I can in VA.
