Default TSP true duals install question

I'm ready to begin mods, but am on a tight budget, but will not skimp on quality or what I want.

I'd like to do a complete new exhaust with QTP headers and the TSP true duals with sweet thunder mufflers, but can not afford it at the moment.

So I am curious, can I get the TSP duals and remove the stock Y-pipe back and have the duals mate to the manifolds/cat's?

The biggest problem I see is the stock attachment is flanged/bolted, not to mention I beleive it's 2-3/4" where the duals are 3"

If I could have it installed I could order the duals now and finally get some sound out of the car, and then down the road, after some bolt-on's and when budget allows go for the headers.

Can it be done?

I wouldn't waste the time/effort that would be needed to mate the true duals to the stock manifolds. They were made for headers, install them with headers.

If you're interested in QTP headers with the high velocity merge collectors, be cautioned - you'll have issues mating the TDs to the HVMCs!

If you're on a budget and want some "sound" out of the car, you have two options:

1) A Cutout on the stock manifold/catback - Cost: $30

2) TSP has SWEET prices on their Pacesetter header/True dual packages. Save a little extra cash and contact them.

Good luck!

My only suggestion is get some pacesetters and the duals. Or just wait.

I was originally planning on getting pacesetters and the TD's, it's a stretch but I can afford it, but after all the good talk on QTP's and Kook's I was leaning that way for headers.

What is the big advantage with pacesetters over the other 2? Obviously price is the biggest thing, dont these need to be taken off to be re-coated to avoid corrosion?

How difficult is it to install headers by the way? I don't have a lift, and cannot weld, that's the reason i'll have to find some oneto install the TD's for me...

Those pacesetters should last awhile before rust starts to show. It will show at the collectors, who looks at the bottom of your car? Think of it this way you can have headers and duals for less than qtp headers alone.

I should beable to install headers myself, but, do the TD's have to be welded or is it a band clamp affair? I'm sure when I order and recieve it all everything will make since, just brainstorming.

And, this system has no cats correct?

The TDs can be welded, but come with high quality band clamps (that I used). No welding here.

No cats, you are correct.

Just make sure you flip your fuel lines and use a rubber bushing where you mount the TSP TDs.

Well, I plan to order tommorow.

My car is a 2000 WS6, so, do I need to order the 00-02 headers or the race-style without EGR? And will I need to order O2 simulators or 24" extensions?

And once this is all installed, I imagine a tune is in order, what kind of place would beable to do this?
