Default Just installed my pacesetter LT's and ORY 1 PROBLEM!!

ok so after the 5 hours of hell I finally finished and I went for a test drive and the motor torques so much that when I punch the gas the exhaust hits the bottom of my car. I took off a clamp that was hitting and I also had a muffler shop torch the exhaust and bend it down a little. I even put washers under my driveshaft loop to lower it away from the exhaust and it still hits.

Has anyone had this issue and what can be done to fix it. It is really anoying to feel my exhaust pounding right underneath me.

I have checked my mounts and they seem to be ok. SO what can I do to either take my exhaust further from the car or keep the motor from torqing so much??

Some one PLEASE HELP!!

i know about the bump stop hanger and the polyeuethane mounts. I guess my question is what is the "best" way to rid my car of this nuisance.

I'm surprised people haven't cracked the pipe doing this... it puts serious stress on the pipes. If I were you, I'd go with some Poly motor mounts and if that doesn't completely solve it, find the spots where it's been banging and take a metal sledge hammer to it... be careful not to pinch any lines.

do what i did put something strong like block of metal or something between the ypipe and floorboard where its hitting....put a floor jack underneath the pipe and jack away....it will flatten the pipe on the top where its hittin and no more banging... its cheap and easy...im sure it feels like a turd from a stop.. mine was sending false knock and slowin me down..

One guy I work with has had one of these on his car for about 15,000 daily driven miles and hasn't had one problem. I just think its easier than doing motor mounts and I'm all for easier. We did another car and didn't have a bump stop hanger and had to bend the pipe and hammer the floor and it still hits from time to time. The hanger took care of all of that. No more hammers for me.

i went out and gave the car hell for awhile (get the headers good and hot). then took a fat hammer and slid it above the header/y-pipe (where its hitting) and launched it fairly hard when i had nittos (which happened to make it wheel hop). took care of the problem for me
