Well this is one old-*** thread. The name Jantzer should be banned from LS1Tech IMO. It took me nearly 2 years to get any product/money back from him after I paid for a ported/powdercoated TB

I wish i knew how to port my tb. I've seen a write up or two but still.. i'm like retarded when it comes time even thinking about doing it. Your just making the hole bigger for more air and flow in right??

Technically you can't make the hole bigger since you're still limited by the size of the butterfly inside the TB but you're smoothing out/removing restrictions to flow before it reaches the blade. Also if you half the TB shaft you're removing even more restriction to flow. I've done maybe 10 TB's and it's much easier than you would think. All you really need is a little drum sander for your drill and then some coarse pads to put on there. I can port one in about 30-45 minutes now without polishing the inside. Really the polishing is just for looks anyways.

kinda,,,,smoothing it out as much as possible is more like it,,,the two big restrictions in the cavity are the main goals...then all the other stuff, half shaft, knife edged, bump stop, ,,they all add up to improve the throttle performance by allowing air travel to become more uninterupted,,
Some folks also add epoxy filler to the air tunnels up top to increase an equal flow into the intake. It looks cool, but has shown no HP gains, and i myself would be pretty paranoid about introducing something like that in the TB enviorment. (i.e. heat, cold, vibration, suction, **** flying into your motor that you don't want in there,,,, stuff like that)

I heard some rattling come from the engine this past weekend. I immediately shut the car off and pulled the intake then heads and found the stupid *** epoxy filler piece inside one of the runners on the head. That epoxy filler is bullshit.
