Default help choose muffler

i want my exhaust to be loud as human possible. im going to have pacesetter lt no cats with a flowmaster x-pipe setup i got from jegs. should i get some sort of bullet muffler or a flowmaster 1-chamber.

ls1sounds has some clips of each but the good clips are of cammed cars which im not yet. so i dont really know how different they are going to be minus the cam.

Cutouts will be overkill on an X-pipe setup.
Bullets are very loud.
1 chamber Flows will sound deep and mean.

Loud as humanly possible? Get some Boom tubes from Dr. Gas and pretend you're Dale JR.

Boom tubes are used in NASCAR. You can literally pretend you're Dale Jr.

You can configure a Y or X setup.

3" Single chambered Flowmasters do exist. Look harder.
18" bullets will be louder than 24" bullets.
Boom tubes are loud as hell, but then again, that's what you asked for initially.

When you say "loud", do mean at idle, cruising, or wot? I can tell you that cats make a big difference in sound. Those catback setups youve heard would be quite a bit louder w/out cats, and you'd notice it more at cruising speeds. My setup however, is loud, but the tone is deep, so its not as hard on the ears as a diferent setup would be with the same loudness but a higher tone. Does that make sense?? As far as mine being louder than yours, definately, especially at wot, its
btw the 3" mufflers are pn# 9430109

Yep, had that same setup. There are several different part #'s for the 3" 1-chambers, depending on case size and such. I searched Jegs or Summits website until I found the most compact size.

They are one in the same. The boom tubes are the muffler, although not much of one. Refer to post #5 for pics, thats all there is to a boom tube setup. hope this helps

i was planning on calling them tomorrow to ask some questions, but here's one in regards to your reply: it reads boom tubes above the boom tube muffler. the price difference is substantial as well. is the boom tubes a diy kit or something? in mentions requiring finishing by installer. just curious. id be fabbing anyways so id easily spend a few minutes finishing the tubes especially to save $600 at the same time.

thanks again,

jeremy

those boom tubes sound BADASS, dont you just hate noise ordinance, every car alarm in town would be goin off when you drove by , I like the one chambers, or the dynomax bullets, the really short ones
