Symptoms of a bad PCV valve...
What are they?
My MPG has dropped a bit lately..plus have like 10K on them...wires are in good shape(MSD's)
I did just run seafoam a few weeks back..maybe it fouled the plugs? Not sure.
But I'm trying to narrow down the parts so I'm not just throwing money at the car. What are the symptoms of a bad pcv? Thanks!
****I tried a search and nothing useful came up****

PCV is a one way valve. Should flow freely in one direction, and not flow at all in the other. Typically, if you shake them and they rattle, there're good.
Have never seen a bad pcv valve.
I don't know where you live, but if it has been really cold there lately, that will crash you gas mileage quickly.

the shake/rattle test is not a good test. I forgot the correct test procedure I believe its to apply a measured amount of vaccuum to it to make sure that the spring inside is operating correctly. I need to get my gm engine performance book out of my box to know for sure the exact procedure.

A PCV valve is very cheap (less than $7 from the dealer). Is it really worth testing? If I ever were to suspect in the slightest that it was bad, I wouldn't even waste my time testing it....just get a new one.

I guess my basic question was will it/can it effect gas mileage?
