Default ramps to install headers?

I would like to do my header install in my garage, but was wondering if I get ramps will that be high enough? What is the best way to get it high enough without a lift?

no way, your gonna need about 12-15 inches clearance under the tires to slide some long tubes up in there. I had to use a full size floor jack, and some blocks of wood to jack it up high enough, then set it on some larger 3 ton jack stands. I raised all 4 corners up, dont know if that is a must do, but it sure did make it easier for me.

^ Yup.
I used ramps under the rear tires, one huge jack under the K-member and a 4X4 block of wood between the jack and the K-member. And a handful of jacks for safety.

Ramps worked just fine for me, but then again I was installing mids. Looks like you're going to do LTs. Probably would need a decent amount more room for those.

well looks like I need a bigger jack and some ramps then! Any idea about how high the wheels should be off the ground? I'm installing pacesetters.

When i did my pacesetters I measured 12 inches from the bottom of the wheel to the ground in the front. It was just the right amount to get them up there comfortably. I was scared about getting it that high but it was not that bad just take your time and use some extra stands for back ups if you got them.

Yeah you wont know for sure till you get it jacked up and try to get them in there. I had my jack pretty much maxed out until I could slide them in there. I never needed to use wood to get it higher either.

Yeah i second the sam's that is what i used except i have the goodyear one they sold like last year. I also have stands similar to the ones they sell. I felt fine going under the car and when i tried to give it a push it felt real secure up on all fours with twelve inches in the front.

Believe me I'm scared every time I head under the car using that thing! Fortunately I also have $15 dollar jackstands. I figure those are worth a little if the jack gives out. Even though their chincy too.

I put the rear on ramps and put a 4x4 block on my 4-ton AC hydraulic fully entended under the k-member. When you have the front high enough, you'll need a ladder to get into the engine bay.
