Thumbs up Bassani true duals

I just test drove my car after the install of the Bassani true dual system, and I have to say I am impressed. The most noticable power gain yet. I went for the stainless and it wasn't cheap, but the fit and layout are very good. Only one piece needed slight trimming to fit and everything tucks pretty tight under the car. The muffler is similar to a chambered style, you can look straight through it and there are 2 2.5" bores all the way through. The sound is pretty mellow at idle and cruise, it gets a lot louder if you get on the gas (I know I have stock cats and manifolds, will let you know how it sounds when the long tubes go on). Its not too rumbly or obnoxious inside the car which is surprising for how straight through the muffler is. I would not have been disapointed if it were louder, but I should gain some sound with the QTPs I am planning on. I will try to get pics as soon as possible.

a catback would be only one pipe going in the muffler. not two. i've been running this tru-dual for a year now. just look up many of my posts about it.

i know, it's not duals unless it has two mufflers, right? who made up that definition? ever wonder what TRUE duals really are? one pipe running from each bank and never touch. one. two, four mufflers, doesn't make a difference.

this so called definition of true duals is because of the one in two out mufflers the f-bodies have had since 1982.

oh, and you might want to consider getting rid of the borla on your car. i used to have the borla on the wife's car. here's a dyno comparison of the two. only change was to the bassani tru-duals.

yeah, it'll get louder once you put headers on. my black car has stock manifolds and cats. the wife's car has the bassani headers and metallicats.

here's some sound clips from the wife's car. and this is with the vinci 062 cam.

nothing against this post and im sure im going to get flamed but bassani isnt a sponser on this site..yet mods allow these posts to be made, yet what someone shows off the lanes systems its locked.....just my observation. has no bearing on me as i run corsa and will never take it off but im wondering why the inequality?

Bassani makes some awesome quality products. I love the standard catback style Bassani S/C system I have on now, but the only thing I'd ever consider changing it for would be the Bassani true duals. Very cool system.

Thanks for all the info mrr23, I was checkin this system out on your car before I ordered it. I noticed the dent right behind the cat on the passenger side when the factory manifolds and cats were on your wifes car, my car has the same dent. Does it come dented from the factory right there?? I don't see much of a gain in ground clearance to justify putting a dent in the pipe right there, is there another reason for this? Thanks again for the info.

whats the ground clearance like? this system has been around for a while and i never paid much attention to it, but i think it just might be the best option should i go the route im leaning.

anybody saying that this isnt a "dual" setup is a moron.

I want true duals in stainless, but I don't like some of the drawback of this system.
I don't like that one pipe goes under the track bar, really wish they could have gotten both exhaust tubes over the PHB brace.
I don't like that the exhaust tube for the passengers side crosses back over in front of the muffler where you can see it.
It visually doesn't look good IMO, and should have been brought over behind the muffler like the Magnaflow setup uses.
Fucntion wise I bet it performs great, I just can't see spending all that money for something I wouldn't be totally happy with.
