Confused about o2 sensors

Default Confused about o2 sensors

I finally received my qtp's this week w/ an ory but now I am confused on the O2 sensors locations. When I look at my stock setup I can count two O2 sensors on my drivers side. But my QTP header only has one bung...whats the deal?? Do i need to get an O2 sim? or do I need to put another bung in? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since you're not running cats, use o2 sims on the rear o2s or get the car tuned with the codes deleted.

Ok sweet, but what do I do in the mean time with the rear O2's? The install will be this weekend but wont be able to get it tuned untill beginning of next week? Do I disconnect them and ziptie the cord to the car or do I just let them hang on?

Disconnect them, and learn to live with the SES light for a little while.

I thought the extensions were for the front O2's? Aside of the SES light, will it affect my car that the rear O2's will be disconnected??

you will not damage anything by not hooking up the rears

Silver's been on the crack tonight guys!

The bungs on the headers are for the FRONT O2 sensors. There are only 2 front O2 sensors, one on each side. You need extensions because the stock harness for the FRONT O2's wont quite reach.

The rear O2 sensors dont have any affect on how the engine is running, they simply make sure the cats are doing their job. You can have the codes for them deleted usually for way less than the price of a full tune. MTI did mine for 75$, along with EGR and AIR. If you dont have cats, dont even bother putting in bungs for the rear O2's, they might as well be unplugged.

Jesus it seems like i type that 7 times a day lol.

Maybe, but emissions tampering from a storefront
location is not a long term success strategy. Best
off staying "underground".

The rear bungs will be in the Y-pipe though an ORY
would probably not provide them at all. If you have
extra bungs, 18mmx1.5 Toyota type oil drain plugs
(AutoZone) will do the job cheap (though not as
cheap as screwing in the old rears and letting them
flap).

im sorry i was mistaken they are in the right spot....i'll delete that post...i tihnk i was on crack when i said that now that i think about it...cause my car would sputter and not run if they werent in the right spot

i'm sorry but im still confused on this? i heard one person say o2 sims are unnecessary and another say you need at least rears for a no cat setup. which is true? codes would be deleted with a tune

ok a tuner off this site will be deleting my codes for me i was just confused about the fronts. someone told me i didnt need any o2 sims if i was doing a header and ory setup. thanks for clearing that up for me.
