Default Just installed the lontubes got a few ?s

Me and my buddies just installed my pacesetter lts (race style ones) and since we had to take out the egr i was wondering what you guys did to plug that hole that goes ontop of the Intake manifold where the EGR plugged into.

Also the car seems to be making a ticking sound.... Is this an exhaust leak?

It also seems to misfire every so often... so would i need a tune? in which they replace the spark plugs?

-thanks

Tune is not needed but helps.

Spark plugs/wires are a good checking point.

3/8" freeze plug I believe is what you need.

They have the exact freeze plug you can use. For the tick it could be an exhaust leak but try and listen to where it is coming from to know for sure. Did you check your flange for straightness before you did the install? Are you running open header now? For the misfire you may have not got a plug wire on all the way so go back and check all the wires and go back over everything again double checkin your O2's as well. When i did mine i did not get any misfires. The tune you will need will be to just adjust your air fuel not get rid of the misfire.

Longtubes in general have a bit of a ticking sound to them. I would get it up on jackstands and get under there while it's on and if there is a leak from any of your connections you should feel air coming out of there. Just be careful it's hot. I had trouble getting the #8 plug wire back on my buddies car as well caused a misfire for a couple minutes til we figured it out.

I would say that if you have a misfire and a tick that they are probably the same porblem. A loose plug wire will cause both a misfire and sometimes a ticking sound.

I heard before that if your egr is not blocked off, it will cause a ticking sound that will increase over time.

I used a little screw to plug that line. If you don't plug it, you'll throw an SES.

Yes, especially if you're due for a change. This is the easiest time to get it done. Many people with NA cars run the NGK TR55's, I do.

the sound is probly because when you connected the wires to the coils you didnt push them up in there all the way. You should hear two clicks when plugging them in. I would go ahead and plug in all the wires again and make sure they are all in and seated properly. Also just push and slide on the boots on the spark plugs as your going around im sure youll find one is not on all the way.
