LS6 Intake?
How can you tell the difference between a standard ls1 intake vs. an ls6? I have a 99 SS motor and t56.
I want to go with the ls6 intake, tr 224/224/114 cam and 918 springs with custom long tube headers for my 69 Camaro.
Thanks for the help.

I made a thread about this recently, and this is the reply I got.
the flat bottom, increases's the plenum volume and theres a bit of refinement in the runners vs the ls1 intake.

ls1 on left, ls6 on right.

Will all LS6 intakes bolt to a f body or do the corvette ones not have studs for the throttle plate? Not tryin to hijack your thread but figured it would be good to know as well.

Directly on top of the intake (right after it meets the throttle body) there would be a EGR tube coming out of the intake and then going to the left if it was an LS1 intake. LS6's don't have the EGR although I have heard of some that can be ordered with EGR

Yep, right on the money about that. Something I didn't think about when I bought a vette LS6 intake.
Those brass inserts can be removed and put in the new intake, but it ain't easy at all. Took me almost an hour to do it, and ended up heating/melting the old intake to get them out. I would see if you can order those inserts from GM first. I wish I would have.
