Because, as we all already know by now, the modding will never cease. How many times have we read how someone installed a 224/224 cam (because of their mods)... then wishing that they went with something bigger afterward.

I second the 90/90 set-up. Sure, it may be a little overkill in the beginning, but when the F14 'eventually' makes it's way inside the engine....

that's what I was screamin. You can't seriously say that if the FAST and the LS6 intake was the same price that someone would by the LS6 to be different. That is what paint is for.

If you have a FAST intake and have taken it apart you automatically know it will perform better just by looking at it. Yeah it might be overkill in some opinions, but have you ever heard that someone was getting too much air into the engine? Exhaust exiting air is a different story, but as far as intake I got the FAST because it is a proven performer. Yes it is almost 3 times as much as the LS6, but if you are looking at eeking all the power you can out of the engine it is a good choice. But the LS6 intake is worth it if you don't already have it, to answer the intial question.

Yeah, it's worth it.

Basically one of those progressive mods. Worth about 10 hp right now, but if you ever do a nice cam, you'll pick up more then too.

The first thing you should learn when you come to this board is that the HP specs from GM from 97-2002 are completly worthless. You think a 2002 z28 really only has 305hp at the motor when they can put down 320 at the wheels?

The LS6 intake is an outstanding mod, i experienced much better top end (4500+) with the addition of the intake and ported t-body.

You can buy the LS6 intake and install it now, and it will NOT BE BAD if you want to do a FAST intake later. I hope you realize that you will ALWAYS be able to get your money back out of an LS6 intake for 2 reasons.

1) they are usually always used when purchased and 2) there are new people signing onto this board EVERY DAY who want one (just like the guy who started this thread , and this will not stop.

I now have an f14 cam in my car and plan on doing heads later on. I also plan on having a fast 90/90 setup. And i KNOW that i can put my LS6 intake in the for sale section for 300 shipped and it will be sold in 10 minutes.

LS6 placement has no reguard to the car itself. 97-2000 LS1 engines came with LS1 intakes. EVERYTHING else came with the LS6 (01-02 f-bod, 01-04 y-body, 04 GTO, all z06's)

Hell, i even sold my stock LS1 intake and throttle body for 80$ to LS1_SS. He's always looking for them for some reason unknown to me

yes it will, and you can find the intake in the for sale section. They come up a few at a time almost on a daily basis. price is anywhere from 290-350 on here from my personal observance.
