Default Question about TSP Catted Y

I was looking at the pics on the TSP site and noticed that it didn't have any post-cat O2 sensor holes. Do they come with the holes or do I have to have the bungs welded in? Or should I just run sims??? I'm in CA and I'm trying to keep it clean on the sniffer test (don't care about the visual).

The catted Y does not come with holes for the rear O2 or bungs. You can buy the bungs and have them welded in if you want. You will also need extensions for the rear O2s. If you can get around the visual, the rear O2s can be deleted through tuning. You can also set the readiness codes to "passed" so you will pass the OBD II check. If it were me I would not worry about installing the rear O2s and just tune them out (which is what I did).

O2 sensor readiness codes. Part of the emission test is to plug into the OBD II port and check for "ready" status on all of the emissions components. There is a list of them including, air, egr, O2 sensor, cat, and evap (I may have missed a couple). While you are driving around, the pcm is running tests on these components to determine if they are functioning properly or not. If they pass the pcm test they get a "ready" next to the component name in the readiness list, if they fail they get a "not ready". If the emissions tester sees too many "not ready" tests you will fail the emission test. Through tuning you can set all of the readiness codes (or just the specific ones you want) to show "ready" no matter what. You can, for example, remove the rear O2s and the readiness test will still show "ready".

We originally tried to run o2s in the rear, but the cat was so efficient that the car would still through a code for not having cats. As a result we just deleted the rear o2 fittings all together. A quick tweak to the tune car fix that code

That's how its done. By setting all the applicable DTCs to "no error reported" you are tricking the pcm into thinking the items are still installed and functioning properly. Now, if you just set the SES enable to off for the egr, rear O2s, etc it will still show the readiness test as "not completed" which will be seen on the OBD II portion of the emissions test.

I've got an ORY on my car. So that means no cats and no rear O2s. Also no EGR. Jason at TSP was kind enough to turn off all my codes. Great guys!!!

To continue this thread... you guys passing Cali emissions no problem? A buddy of mine is running this Y (and so am I) and he just tested his car and passed curb idle fine but almost failed the 40 km/h test (25 mph). He did pass, but it was super close.

Any reason for this you guys can think of? His Y and CATS are brand new end of last year and the car is stored in the winters. Also, I'm a relatively experienced self-tuner and the car has a great LTFT histogram with all LTFT's reading between 0 - +4's.
