Have all the tools laying on the ground in arm's reach. I've always hated to roll out from under the car, get up, and go dig through the toolbox for something I should have known I'd need before I started.

If you're using SLP instrucions, remember that QTP's slide right in, you don't have to undo the tranny at the cross member. Just point the QTP's straight up and down (collector facing the floor), and you're fine.

for the qtps - get the car as high as you safely can (i had 2 about 8 inches of wood ontop of my jack)

I had to remove the oil filter to get the drivers side in, i thought if I could get it high enough it would just slide in, it would not. So I took the oil filter off, and slid right in.

Passanger side had to remove coil pack to get to back bolt easier. I'm sure it isnt required, but sure helped. Also removed dipstick on that side.

the next best advice I can offer, is have a friend there, nothing like another set of hands to help get stuff done

All long tubes you want to have it up as high as you can without it being too much of a safety issue.

I had the car on a lift and when trying to get the drivers side in it wouldnt go. So I had to undo the drivers side motor mount and put a jack up under it and lift it up a couple of inches. After that slid right in. Passenger side was a breeze, no hassle what so ever. Just be sure not to damage any sparkplugs while pulling manifolds and putting lt's back in.

i had to take off the steering linkage and cut it apart and put a smaller diameter piece inside it and weld it because it was rubbing,BAD! i also took off the oil filter, and the motor mount and still had to take the perch off also.i hope you have better luck than i did.oh yeah i had to heat and bend-dimple both sides to keep from hitting where my a-arms bolt up.my flowtechs fell out on both sides !

I'm not exactly sure why you are having so much trouble since I'm not there to see it, but I have now installed 7 sets of these headers and 2 sets of 1 7/8 headers. If you remove the steering shaft, oil filter, and drain plug, they should go right in provided you have the car high enough. With the collector directly facing the ground, you should be able to push the header into place. There is definatly no reason to undo your motor mounts. If you still have trouble, I suggest you contact QTP and talk to Barry about this.
