I am very seriously considering this setup with the catted Y-pipe. The whole kit includes o2 ext. gaskets, bolts, etc. all for $1299 at Summit. It looks like it's great quality. I am mostly curious about any fitment issues or anything else I may need to know about these. Thanks for any help you can offer.

 

I havent really heard of anyone running these. They look like a pretty quality product to me. I remember hearing a while back that they were made by or are the same thing as the FLP long tubes just without the collectors. Cant verify for SURE though....just something I heard.

 

also might want to check out the QTP's....VERY nice header and i believe they just had a price reduction.....also features the HVMC(high velocity merge collector) which has been shown good for a few extra ponies as well. They are some of the nicest headers out there.

 

I have a set of Supermaxx's sitting in my spare room, waiting to be installed
(I seem to be too busy too much of the time, but I will make time soon...);

I ordered mine JetHot coated ("Sterling Silver" coating).

I inspected mine closely, and the have excellent workmanship.

I bought mine after seeing people say they are an easy install, fit with good clearance; the primary tubes come togther in a nice compact bundle, and the cats are very nice and compact too.

Price is good considering what you're getting.

If you search the forum for "Supermaxx" you'll see people's positive comments.


Edit: Hmmm.... you may need to search some of the other forums also (...I only got 3 hits on LS1Tech...?).

 

Installed Supermaxx header in early December. The quality looked perfect, only had to remove the oil filter to slide them in and they come with everything needed but a clamp for the ypipe to catback connection. I debated for months on between Kooks, QTP and Supermaxx before buying them. No regrets here so far.

Ok, good info, remove oil filter during install.
Did you use your old Y to catback clamp...?
Did you have to expand the catback pipe at all...?
