Default Paging anyone with this set up..... LTs+Borla

Hey, i am going to order some LTs soon and cannot decide if i want to ditch my borla now or what. Its either keep my borla or sell it and run True Duals under the axel which will set me back some more money and lose some clearance since im lowered. In my borla i only have the fully open plate, car came with it on there and i didnt get any of the extra plates. So ive heard about an electrical plate? Maybe i can use this to adjsut it? I really want a sound clip of someone with LTs + ORY+ open borla. Or maybe a catted y. How will clearance be with a catted y and will it be a way better solution for me? Thanks

I'm running that setup and if you go TD's just for the sound, IMO I think its a waste of money. The Borla system you have is basically a cut out so that cuts the need for a seperate cut out. That right there saves you a couple bucks. I am running Hooker headers, Hooker ORY with the Borla and contrary to popular belief, I get no rasp what so ever. It's fairly quiet at idle but when you step on the gas it has a very nice sound to it not too quiet but not annoyingly loud either. Still enough to **** off the neighborhood. As far as clearance, I have no clue because im not lowered. The ORY compared to stock does hang a little lower though. Hope this helps.

I got kooks lts into a catted Y and to the borla with no plate, And I have had many compliments on how it sounds. At Idle it is not too loud, but once you give it the slightest bit of gas and it comes alive.

The only thing the plates are good for is to quiet it down. If you are happy with the way it sounds I would just leave it as is. The QTP electric cutout is $120+. You would need the 3" cutout for that system. Once you get the LT's and Y on, its gonna wake that Borla up.

Well the plates actually direct the exhaust either threw the straight pipe or the muffler. Threw the straight pipe is the open one and with LTs and ORY i hear this gets raspy, but when ran threw the muffler, it takes the rasp away. Im not talking about a Cutout, im talking a about plates for the borla system but in electrical form, unless this is a cutout? And i am happy with how it sound snow but its going to totally change when i add LTs and ORY so i want to have an electrical plate to tune with the sound.

Thats my set up. You should be fine. No clearance issues. Its a little raspy below 3000 rpm, then it gets mean. And WOT...now thats something else.

Wow, thats strange...possibly the brand of headers and Y? I dont get any rasp.

Yes, the plate system is a cutout. For tuning I would just close the plate system all together and run it straight through the cat back.

Yea, thats why i want an elec plate cuz i dont have any of them, anyone know if like the QTP cutout electric piece will work? Not the actually cutout itself but the electircal plate part? Or is there a special borla part? Thanks!

My friend had this setup before he sold his headers and it sounded very nice, don't worry about the plates it will be fine seeing as you want it loud anyways.

I'm running my Borla wide open with Hooker LT'S and ORY ..no Cats. It gets a little raspy at times but if you run a catted y-pipe that should tame it down somewhat. Clearance shouldn't be an issue as long as you stay away from SLP LT'S and catted y-pipe!!

awesome, thanks! How would you say the tone changes from ORY to catted y, or does the tone and loudness stay the same, it just rids all raspiness?
