Default which series Flowmasters???

Is there any way to tell which series Flowmasters you have. One was on the car when I bought it. I heard the cross flow model was a litlle better than the other series. Probably gonna sell it just want to know what it is.

Actually, the crossflow (80 series) is the one that flows the worst....

If the muffler is a single offset inlet/dual outlet, then it's an 80 series crossflow.....

Plenty of people with the single chambers on their duals that would say otherwise.

If using Flowmaster for duals... that's fine. Just use the single chamber ones.

If using the catback or planning on buying it that uses the 80 series? Stay away!

It's not bad if you plan on running a cutout

Single chambers are nice. They sound good and aren't nearly as bad as other FM's flow-wise.

my buddy had single chambers welded to the end of his long tubes, he took thoes off and replaced it with a 3 inch dual x pipe system with 12 inch bullets, and picked up 18 rwhp.

That prob has a lot to do with the lengths on the pipes and x more than it does with muffles. Noticed why sprint cars run extensions off their headers? I wouldnt count this as credible info inless you said he swapped his 3 inch dual x pipe 1 chamber system with 12 inch bullets and picked up 18hp.

A low restriction exhaust actually adds hp compared to open headers. Besides, the LS1's are known for wanting a bit of back pressure.

I was thinking the same thing. Running mufflers right off the headers as opposed to a x-pipe setup is comparing apples to oranges. I would like to see if theres a hp difference with just a muffler swap though.
