Default Header Install

I am all geared up for friday cause that is when I will start my pacesetter install. I was wondering, do I need to wipe the headers down good to get finger prints off them after they are in? I didnt know if the oil in my finger prints will harm the coating when they get hot. Also, I was going through the hardware sent and I have 12 header bolts and 14 washers. I assume the washers go with the header bolts and they sent 2 extra. Am I aright? I also have 6 more bolts, 6 nuts, and 6 locker washers to go for the emmissions stuff. I guess I am all set then!

did you get the coated or paint ones, the coated ones it shouldn't really matter with the finger prints but won't hurt. As for the painted ones it isn't gonna matter anyways, it will start flaking out after the first time it gets warm

I'm pretty sure that it's the stainless headers that you have to wipe down to avoid marks from your fingerprints. Like was said though, couldn't hurt

Yeah I bought the ceramic coated ones but I think I will still wipe them down to be safe.

Don't get over excited Pacesetters are the easiest header installs out there, believe me I have installed EVERY make of headers out there for a 98-02 Fbody so if this is your first and only set youv'e got it made. I installed my coated PC's in June of 03 and they look as good as new today. Dont worry about wiping off every fingerprint on them, you wont be on next weeks Law & Order episode

LOL, glad to see that the pacesetters seem to hold up well. Thanks for the info!
