Catylitic convert question
Our cars come with 4 O2 sensors, 2 on each side. The "front" 2 help make changes to the cars fuel/air mix, while the rear 2 only make sure the cat's are working. These rear 2 are the ones saying "hey this guy doesn't have cats!"
You can buy O2 simulators, AKA "O2 sims", which plug into the rear O2 sensor harness and replace the sensors. They simply trick the computer into thinking they work.
If you have to pass a visual inspection, you will most likley pass unless the place is really determined, but they can still fail you for not having cats in place, SES code or not.
A much better solution to the problem is to take the car to an LS1 speedshop or someone with LS1 edit and have the codes deleted. You will not have to run O2 sims and it will be UNABLE to throw the codes. You should be able to have this for less than the cost of O2 simulators.
