Which muffler would be the quieter of........
Which muffler would be the quieter of........ either a 12" Dynomax bullet (#24222), a one chamber Flowmaster (#9430119), a Borla XR-1 12" oval (#40943) or......? I am very limited on size; those are about the only ones I can find that would fit. The Borla is even pushing it.
Here is what I have; a LS1 Vega conversion, 5.7 motor with h/c, 1 7/8" custom headers, a custom 3" x-pipe set-up, XXXXX mufflers, then turn downs before the rear tires. I have been on ls1sounds, listened to quite a few sound clips, but would like some opinions from people who have firsthand experience with the above mufflers. TIA.

I have first hand experience with the dynomax bullet and 1 chamber flowmaster. The dynomax bullet is what I have on my Z28 and it's not quiet at all. The flowmaster is a little bit quieter, but not much.
The moroso spiral flow doesn't take up much room is quieter than all of those choices. There's also the stainless works chambered mufflers that are kinda tame. I don't have any first hand experience with either of these though.
It's going to be hard to make Lts, duals, and a cam quiet with a limited space muffler.

I have Flo-Pro Twisters on my TD's, and they are definately quieter than any bullet muffler. They have little interior noise and a tame idle, but scream at WOT. 
EDIT- I know you didn't ask about these, but they are the same size as bullet type mufflers, and are a bit quieter.

one chamber flowmaster obviously gets my vote.....best sounding muffler on a dual setup (I've heard bullets and sweet thunders in person too, but not spirals) and is tame enough while cruising to easily carry on a conversation in the car.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. I ended going with Fowmaster pt.# 430408 (smallest oval muffler I could find). It is a 40 series (two chamber) 3" in/out, C/C, and the muffler case is only 9" long, 8" wide and 4" tall, overall length is 13". There actually smaller than the one chamber which is kinda mind boggling. See if I made the right decision. LOL. Thanks again!
