Default Pacesetter v Edelbrock

Hey I am bout 2 buy some shorties for my 00 SS. It's bone stock and not planning for any mods besides shorties and 3'' pipes. I just want the aggressive tone for now. I read and read good things about pacesetter's. Is there any diff between pacesetter and edelbrock shorties? What do you guys recommend between these two? I'm looking for the best deal and which would last longer. I am shooting for the ceramic coated finish so which one's should I choose? Thanks

Yeah. I don't plan on doing any major mods to the car right now. I got ext'd warr and I just want an aggressive sound for now. Daily cruiser. I'm reading threads and I wonder between the painted and ceramic coated which will be better off in the long run?

In the longest run stainless would be your best bet (I realize thats not a choice), coated would be next best, and painted would be fine but the paint will start to chip down the road and rust (not soon but it will especially depending on your driving conditions). I have the painted LT's from Pacesetter and they are a great piece. Not as pretty as the day I put them in but still perform great and definitely give you a good tone. Hope this helps!

You might be much more happy with the LTs friend of mine had the shortys and wasnt happy with them at all. Even if thats all you want to do.

Pace compared to edelbrock? The shorties will fit my stock y and cats correct. If I purchase the painted pace or edelbrock shorties, is there a setback of any kind from ceramic besides rust? I'm just lookin for good quality headers that give you a good sound. I will be running 3'' pipe w/ flowmaster muffler. Will I need to buy anything else besides the headers to install them?

Your warranty is probably toast with any mods at all. I would throw a cutout in the I pipe if i was you. Its cheap, offers a mean sound, and some nice power gains.

Is there any sound clips of the cutout u mentioned on here? Now I'm reading shorties ain't worth a crap so I'm like WTF right now. I want to do something to make my car a little louder w/o causing any problems later with da warranty. What to do I still don't know

Maybe another route would be best. Such as a GMMG exhaust. This will give you the nice aggressive sound you are looking for and will not void your warranty. If the cost is too much a hooker catback is also an option. Or you could leave your stock manifolds on and get off road pipes and a cat back exhaust. I realize you said you wanted to get headers so this is just another suggestion. On a final note however in the long run 95% of people who don't just buy a set of long tubes always end up regretting it and buying them eventually. Just my .03
