Default Alternator Overdrive Pulley

Does it really help out when it comes to powering the electrical system? I am looking at a HO alternator, and was wondering....

no. i missed that you were changin alt.
I'm just sayin if your driving along and your volts on the gauge are ok and when you come to a stop the volts drop down a bit then you should get the alt OD pulley. but that usually only happend in autos that idle REALLY low. like 400 rpms.

Thanks! Makes more sense. My car idles around 1000 right now, but I am concerned about aftermarket alternators and pulleys....

a better ALT isn't needed unless you are running a HUGE stereo set up. i'm talkin multiple amps and you compete in stereo sound offs.

Which alternator are you going with? I'm in the market also.. also going to overdrive it because my automatic idles at like 500 and the voltage starts to drop and I have to gas it.

Peace,
Josh
