Default header wrap?

i'm going to put on a cutout on my exhaust, and instead of welding them all the way around, could i tack it on a few spots (so it'll be easier to take off) and put header wrap around the ends?

would that seal it up?

I've never used the stuff before, looking for some ideas

thanks guys

No, the wrap doesn't seal that good. It's made of fibers woven together.

The header wrap wont keep it from heating it is meant to absorb heat so that it keeps underhood temps down. You could always clamp it down I used clamps and never had a problem with it

It is not worth it IMO. Coating would work better.

just throw some band clamps on it. No crimping and you can take it off if you need later.
