Default info needed about headers and tune, heard rumor

hey im in the middle of putting on longtubes....... i went to a dealership the other day to look at the gto's and told the guy i was gonna do longtubes and delete a.i.r and e.g.r and he freaked out and said dont do that these computers go in to freeze mode and make the car run like ****. so i told him it was gonna be deleted out like it wasnt there and he said it doesnt matter these cars are made to run on emissions stuff and people can run 10's in a car with full emissions so i told him i would keep the air and egr on and just delete my rear 02's and he said the same thing that my computer would lock up in to trouble mode and i wouldnt be able to pass emissions and it would run like ****. anyone here passed emissions with ory and deleted 02's or sims does the emissions computer sense trouble if a code has been removed? i just wanna be able to pass 0bd2 they dont do visual in my county just computer.......

the guy sounds like a moron, once you get it tuned and shut the stuff off you will have no problems

If you get it tuned, and the codes eliminated, the PCM won't even know the stuff is missing

i have a cam, orp and long tubes. plenty of guys and myself have passed emissions.
once a tuner deletes egr and air, the car will run fine.
**** it will run even if you dont tune it out.

my understanding is none of those codes mean anything but "this isn't working"...doesn't affect performance at all, so if you can't afford a tune yet just leave the SES light on
