Save the $40 and try that first.
This right here is the area that will rub....

As you can see, the first "fix" was hood insulation and a heater hose wrapped around the rubbing point with two band clamps. That didn't work too well.
The we put the mufflex hanger on there...

That wasn't a good fix at first because of where we mounted it. Also, the clamp of the hanger kept slipping and it landed up in the position you see above with the rubber hitting the Y pipe and starting to melt.
I don't have a picture of the solution, but basically, to mount the Mufflex hanger in the position where it would do the most good, we had to cut it reverse it, and re-weld it, this is coz my rear O2 bung is located where the hanger is supposed to go. Once we had it in the right postion, we tack welded it in place on the Y pipe so it wouldn't slip. I also used stainless steel zipties, yes they make those, to keep the two rubber together. Finally we used a 2x4 to crush my Y pipe just a bit more.
Haven't had any problems since.
I'll take some pics of this on saturday, that will explain it much better.
