Default FAST TOYS BLEM MAF ENDS

I just installed a set of these!

I then redynoed and my hp number with descreened maf was 308.3hp with Fast Toys blemished maf ends the number jumped to 318.6! My tq number went from 317.7 descreened to 325.9 with blem ends! Thanx Phil!
Oh I went a little lean but compensated with my trusty MAF Translator!

Hey O.K. did you dyno both ways on same day? Thats pretty interesting, i flow tested maf with and w/out screen and it picked up 124 cfm @ 20.3"
Also stock air filter only hurt total flow by 44 cfm(testing bellows, maf, lid and air filter)

Yeah, the '99's seem to like ported ends. When I got mine I felt a nice increace in power, more so than the lid and open Borla. And even more than the pulley I just put on. It took a few miles for my cpu to relearn. I figure if it has to relearn after a mod, then that mod really makes a change. And, it made my a/f ratio perfect. I do wish I had a screen, though, to keep the tiny bugs, ect., out of the intake.

I tried a set of GeorgeC's ported stock MAF's with a direct-flo lid, K & N, and flowmaster muffler being only mods from stock, and best et went from 13.26 at 103.95 mph to 13.16 at 104.99 mph. Runs were made on m/t sportsman pros, so 60s were all between 1.97 and 1.99. The only problem I had was the car started to ping in 2nd gear, which was solved with MATF 6% richer, and best time is now in sig. I figured that night I might have broken 12s with good tires, but I was still pleased!

Glad to hear the ported MAF ends worked out well on your car! Your results are right in line with what I saw on my own 98. I picked up a solid MPH at the track on the same day testing with a learning windown in between.

Not all cars respond well to the ported ends, but when they do, it's one of the best bang for the buck deals

UPDATE!!! Went back to dyno today after putting 166 miles on the Krusher! I just wanted to see if AIR/FUEL ratios were ok! I have read numerous posts where mods take a few miles for car to relearn fuel and spark curves! Now if I didn't see this with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it! My A/F ratios were a little fat 11.6 at the top of gear, but my HP was up 323.4 and the TQ was 334.0! Now all this gain was thru a pair of blemished maf ends and then driving them around for a week! Who would have ever thought that much HP and TQ could have been gotten from two pieces of inexpensive plastic!
Well needless to say I am happy as a pig in $h!t!

Hey ORANGE KRUSH, your testing is on a Mustang dyno isnt it? You may have more power than you think, i know you were using it for back to back testing, but your numbers could be higher on Dyno-Jet.

Well just did 3 follow up pulls to check tuning since the last time! 3 pulls in a row 324.1,324.2,and,324.3 on the hp and 335.6,336.9,and 337.8 on the tq. Now at the top of gear from 4,500 on thru to 6,200 the A/F was 11.9 made adjustment with MAF Translator to lean it out a little. Next Saturday will redyno and see where I end up!

I recently bought a set of Thunder racing MAF ends from Jason99T/A. I installed them a couple days ago and then went for a little cruise. I hadnt driven my car in over a month so I cant say for sure that I felt a difference. Then again I said the same thing right after I got my headres installed:o. After putting some miles on her I was able to tell the difference. That and driving my girlfriends stock 02 WS6.

Unfortunetly I am back out of town so I cant take he for a long drive and really open her up and allow her to get used to the new MAf ends.

* Oh that reminds me.... with my current mods should I get a MAFT or am I doing okay without one? *

I would definitley get a MAF-translator! It is a must in order to squeak out every ounce of performance! I suggest doing some wideband tuning on a dyno! 12.5 air fuel ratio on the dyno is good for a n/a car!!

I was snooping around under my hood last weekend
(important to stay ahead of the pack) and i studied maf sensor, it definitely is a restriction to the rest of the induction system.
My question is will a 2001 Ls1 respond to ported ends and compensate for higher air flow or will a translator automaticly be needed? TIA
