pros and cons of descreening and porting my MAF i was looking at installuniversity the other day and was wanting to port and descreen my MAF. has anybody outhere done this and if so is it worth it or is it better to go and buy MAF ends from a vender.

If you want to keep the stockers for back up.. buy aftermarket.

Cons....decreased line pressure in tranny under WOT.

1) As noted above, it can reduce the A4's line pressure, but it actually impacts part throttle pressure as well and can lead to glazed clutches.
2) It is really a crutch to solve tuning issues (slightly rich, conservative timing) that could properly be handled through LS1 Edit. If you will be a heavy mod'er, you'll eventually want/need Edit, so buy it now rather than putting money into a piecemeal approach such as MAF ends/HPP3/O2 simms etc.
