If you want to keep the stockers for back up.. buy aftermarket.
I have had great results using port MAF ends.
Cons....decreased line pressure in tranny under WOT.
I've got ported MAF ends. I could tell a noticeable difference <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
1) As noted above, it can reduce the A4's line pressure, but it actually impacts part throttle pressure as well and can lead to glazed clutches.
2) It is really a crutch to solve tuning issues (slightly rich, conservative timing) that could properly be handled through LS1 Edit. If you will be a heavy mod'er, you'll eventually want/need Edit, so buy it now rather than putting money into a piecemeal approach such as MAF ends/HPP3/O2 simms etc.
