Default another question about mac header install

Ok so I've seen some people mention having to move the steering column or something when doing a header install....I would like to attempt to install the headers myself when I buy them this summer but if there is some really difficult stuff that I have to do I may just pay someone else to do it. Is there anything really complicated besides removing some wires or whatever and unbolting the stock manifolds and y-pipe? I didn't see anything in that write-up on a MAC header install but other posts mentioned steering column stuff made me a little weary. Also I have a 2002 z28 so would I need to modify stuff to make the MAC headers work?

mac header install is a very straight forward process. If you can rent a lift it will make it much easier. you don't have to do anything with the steering.just be safe take your time and consider doing plugs and wires at the same time.... <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

I did mine (several times) on jackstands with just hand tools in my garage. Not too hard. I did have to turn the steering wheel just right to get that header to drop in but I didn't have to remove or disconnect the steering linkage.

Both my Macs went in straight from the bottom. Only had to jack up the motor about 2 inches for the driver side header. I think the 01-02's are alot easier. No EGR to mess with, etc... My biggest problem were making the stock air tubes fit into the Macs. I had to actually bend them 90 degrees to get them to fit.
