sad day. at least for me! well, i haven't driven the trans am in about a month so i decided to take it to home depot to get a couple odds and ends i needed. about 3 miles into the trip the car idles like crap and cuts of on me. i start it back up and i get i loud knocking from under the car, sounds like the driveshaft is banging against the exhuast.i shut it down right away and look under to see what i can see, but being lowered i couldn't see much. now i push it into a bank and call a flat bed to bring it home for me. now it starts with no knocking but it idles kind of rough and sounds like total s**t! i have it up on jack stands but have yet been able to figure anything out. i know this is the appearance section, but this usually where i'm at most of the time. if any of you guy could direct me to someone who may know what this is i would greatly appreciate it. thanks in advance.

Everything connected like it's s'posed to be? Obvious stuff like checking all fluids & wires?
What were you doing at the time? Revving? Getting on it? Shifting?

Re: sad day. at least for me! my ses light came on. i have a friend with a scanner who is going to come over and get me the codes. i was just driving it normal when it happened. slowing down to come to a stop.all the fluids and wires are good and everything is connected. i just put MAF ends on about 2 weeks ago though. i've heard of people with 6 speed cars having problems with these. is there any truth to that?

Re: sad day. at least for me! Something similar like that happened to me once. I used to have a 97 firebird, and I stopped at a old gas station and pumped gas. Well the next day, I turned the car on, and it idle like sh*&. Then after I drove it alitte my SES light turned on. well I took it in to the shop, and it turned out the gas I had in it was bad, so they drained it out, and the problem when away.
