LS6 intake and EGR
I bought an LS6 intake and was going to get the EGR mod from Jay Fisher Pontiac but they are on back order. I don't want to wait to install this so I was wondering what others have done to make it work.
Thanks
Kevin

Quick check, LS6 intakes have no provision for EGR valves. Does your engine have a hideous looking 5/8" or so metal tube coming off of the top of the intake manifold right behind the throttle body, leading to your exhaust manifolds. If so, you have an LS1 intake manifold, if not you have the LS6 manifold. <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

If you want to retain your EGR with the LS6 intake you could contact ARE - I believe they will modify your intake for you. Otherwise (and this looks like a good route although I've not heard of anyone doing it) LPE sells a little adapter block kit to retrofit the intake for EGR. Thanks for the info but Im looking for a way to do this without drilling into the manifold. Has anyone T'd a vac line and hooked the EGR tube to it and have it work.

I see ls1 edit in the future so I don't want to have to worry about pluging a hole later. But its going to be awhile before I get it because I'm working on heads and cam at the moment.

All I can suggest is that maybe you consider stepping up your schedule for purchasing LS1Edit (good thing to have with H/C anyway) or that you disconnect the EGR and just live with the SES light for the time being.
