Shorty Headers????

Shorty Headers???? Currently I have a bassani offroad y-pipe. My question is will
getting some shorty headers with this setup be beneficial. I also
hava a compcam in the car as well. I heard JBA and Hooker
make shorty headers. Will the car sound different? Any help

Re: Shorty Headers???? I just put JBA shorties on my SS, shorties were my only option for my SS, fit and finish is great. As for sound improvements, the car my have a very slightly different tone to the exhaust, but minimal.
Installation is pretty easy. The MAJOR PIA was the EGR connection. JBA in their infinite wisdom didn't thread the new flange and provided new nuts and bolts, trying to tighten them is an act of major body contortionism (sp) and LOTS of swearing. The collector flanges are also not threaded and hook up with nuts and bolts, not too bad to tighten but DEFINITELY disconnect your battery, I hit the starter with a wrench and got a brilliant light show! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> And my last installation tip is one of the AIR tube bolts needed to be shortened so as not to hit the header tube.
Oh, BUY NEW BOLTS!!! The new ones are cheap ugly standard steel crap!
