3 questions concerning engine operation. I just installed a cam and lt headers on my car. I have recently noticed the engine runs alot hotter you can really feel it when you pop the hood. My question is, Will I benefit from a fan switch and a 160 thermo? My second question is Does it hurt anything to run a fanswitch in the on position the whole time the car is on? Thanks for your help!
P.S will porting a pace LS6 ls1 calibrated maf help my car any with the cam? Trying to get it to breath alittle better.

Re: 3 questions concerning engine operation. Whats up JP...Normally, headers will produce more heat than stock manifolds. Look at your temp gauge. what does it read? Does it have a hotter reading? The motor should not be substantially hotter than normal...A thermostat may help. Electric fans are another idea...runnin the fans 24/7 would not hurt the motor, especially on a hotter day....The stock fans are supposed to turn on at 210 degrees. Im told that these motors run well at 210 degrees anyways, but Im not an expert in that area. But dont forget, to TURN THE SWITCH OFF BEFORE LEAVING YOUR CAR, otherwise you'll have no battery when you come back. If i were you, i'd hook the fan switch to the ignition so when you turn the car off, the fans automatically turn off. Hope this helps out...late
