backfireing noise coming from the exhaust????????? Yes i when i shift between gears it pops almost like a backfire. Its really annoying it really didnt do it untill i changed a couple of different exhausts. Sof if any one can help id appreciate it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

i have a cat back borla and it does it some times.. i think its normal because theres not so much back presure and rather straight flow. i think it sounds pretty cool.

Re: backfireing noise coming from the exhaust????????? i have a flowmaster system on mine it makes a loud pop not a cakel u know. I got a corsa system that i had onit to but it made a similir noise

Re: backfireing noise coming from the exhaust????????? i think your problem is the flowmaster exhaust! it sounds to throaty for an f-body. i recommend the borla cat-back system for smooth sound, it will rumble a little when you come to a stop but its a mean rumble not a distorted sound. and by the way, when the borla rumbles the 5.0's run to hide!!!

Re: backfireing noise coming from the exhaust????????? Mine has an exhaust pop when I rev the engine when cold and the AIR pump is on. It seems to go away once the pump shuts off and it warms up.

Re: backfireing noise coming from the exhaust????????? I have a Borla. It was doing it on my car for a while. I did some reading up on it but I don't remmeber where, some GM website. They said to run higher octane gas. I did and I have not heard another pop.

I get the "krackle and backfire" untill I am warmed up. I run 94octane sunoco I actually like the sound!

Re: backfireing noise coming from the exhaust????????? Ok, gentlemen, another reason may be you have a hole in your exhaust. The welds on the muffler itself may not be closed all the way. ITs kinda hard to get between the axle and the muffler to weld. What kind of gas are you running? With LS1's, you should be running 92 (or its 91 now) octane fuel. Could your air/fuel mixture be out of place? Could be a few things to make it backfire.
