Re: Difference between a resonator and a bullet?
A resonator is just an expansion )sometimes just a larger diameter section of pipe) in an exhaust system. I usually has no internal structure or baffling other than for structural support.
A bullet muffler usually has an internal perforated baffling system (kind of like a cheese grater texture) It is like a perforated pipe within a larger pipe.

Interesting; what he showed me was a chrome 3.5" slash tip. when you looked inside it was a plate perforated. Behind that was a perforated chamber that went all the way back. He called it a resonator, you're saying bullet muffler. Either way at the end of a dual system x-pipe with cats it should sound pretty good.

Considering I don't want to do this 2 many times, I plan on looking up the manufacturer. The appt. is tomorrow ( true duals with an x and aforementioned muffler tips ) and I want to make the right choice. Just called - they call it a 'baffled muffler tip' and it's made by either 'Jones' or 'Harris'. Anyone heard of these? Obviously I can live without the mufflers ( leaving cats ) but don't know if I'm better off getting bullets instead of these.
