Default In Search for Best Sounding Exhaust

So many debates on exhaust, so many to choose from...Looking for a catback for a stock LS1..
May put a throttle body on later....have 3 chamber flowmaster, dual 3" tips, and whisper lid...

The loudmouth sounds great on a car with cats, very muscle-car sounding. Beware though, if you plan on doing headers and off-road pipes, its gets VERY loud, but on a mostly stock car, its a very good sounding exhaust.

i have really enjoyed my random tech. it delivers as much power as any other (most actually) it is very affordable and lightweight and the sound is smooth and unique, but very agressive when wide open. plus, you are actually paying for a muffler system, not just some hollow pipes.

I got the loudmouth catback with mac hearders with the on road pipe with gutted cats, i reallly like the way it sounds at WOT, yea it drones alot on the highway but oh well, before i got the macs i had the loudmouth with the stock cats gutted, it was louder at start up and idleing with the loudmouth on the stock gutted cats, then it is with the macs.

I have a set of Hooker Shorties, stock y-pipe and cats, with the muffler taken off. Similar to the loudmouth accept it has no resinator. Sounds AWESOME at WOT, but when its cold, it pops a lot.. Still sounds good.

The Banks system gets my vote!..I took my Borla system off for this one ,and could not be more pleased.it has a completely different sound from the other systems i have heard and at the price you would pay for a aluminized system, you can get an all stainless Banks system...no brainer\!

i like my borla but the gmmg does sound great. im not a fan of the loudmouth in the slightest. borla's adjustability is a big plus especially when you add headers. i cant wait to hear my flp's with no cats and wide open

Does anyone know how they sound??? They are up there in price!!!

They have a nice mellow sound to them, but very quiet IMO. I've driven right next to a B&B-equipped SS before and haven't even heard the exhaust. This actually surprised me because the B&B on my C4 is relatively load - of course that's a dual 3" setup. They are certainly pricey, but the B&B mufflers tend to flow well and their exhaust systems are a work of art - completely polished 304SS. Love the tips too.

I'm running a Loudmouth myself and I've heard the GMMG. While it sounds good and isn't as loud as the LM, I still like the Loudmouth better although I feel they are comparable. Unless you were really hung up on the GMMG I can't really see why you'd pay twice as much for it vs. a Loudmouth. Also, as I recall when the GMMG first came out the initial dynoes showed little to no gain from the GMMG. Not sure if this has changed, though, since I haven't had reason to keep up on it.

Officer, I think you're wise to try and find different catbacks to listen to before buying one. If your plan is to keep the car mostly stock, then tone and loudness should be your primary concerns IMO

Damn, my mind keeps changing...Im gonna have to hear a loudmouth before i look into GMMG...If they are comparable, then why spend twice the cash? I gotta say though, my first pick of the day was going to be B&B Triflow....then i found GMMG, then i saw Loudmouth, corsa....

its like

Im gonna hold out for a few and wait to hear and then choose what i like. For now, I would like to get rims and tires...What to do, what to do???

Of course, theres no such thing as TOO MUCH power, am i right????

Officer,
I took the liberty of emailing you a few soundclips I had of the Loudmouth exhaust. Hope it makes your decision a little easier
Oh BTW its a good-sized file, so I hope it doesn't jam up your email too bad

Nothing like a straight pipe. No other aftermarket exhaust has the straight through design with no resonator in between. It just rocks. I've actually pulled up to people and, because it's quiet at idle, revved and scared the wee out of some folks. LOL!

Just my opinion.

SC

OBTW, I got it for $400. Just shop around.

Y-pipes and catbacks are lame

A true-dual longtubed and x-piped LS1 will sound better than any traditional exhaust setup, hands down.
