lower air box question
On my 98 WS6 the opening was large enough to put 2 fingers into the opening but the box on my new SS I can barely fit one finger into the inlet.
I thought the ram air cars had a larger opening on the front of the lower part of the airbox.
smallest cross sectional area of the fresh
air path, prior to the air filter. I tried
raising my box, but could only get 1/8" before
starting to hit the stock SS hood.
Tried sliding it back to gain some more height,
but it also functions as the radiator top
support, and the radiator started getting
loose. So no go, there.
I'm still curious about fitting the WS-6 lower
box to a stock SS. Has anyone done this and
been happy? Or is it impossible for height
reasons with the original SS hood? Can't see
how you could have a taller box, and keep the
air seal, and not bang the hood all at once.
i cut the 'lip' out of my stock lower airbox with a dremel, raised the opening .25 or so everywhere except for the latches.
