My girl thinks I spend more time on the computer than with her, ever since i found LS1tech.com...I just tell her, Im just learning about my car and how to work on it...Shes even gotten to the point, where it was late, and she hit the power button on the computer, cause it was my only night off to spend with her...She also states that all i ever talk about is my cars...We go out when we're together, but when we get home, i check the forums...HELP ME!!! I hate being in the dog house...Anybody else relate?? What to do?

So now here is my reply..... Hey guys, I've got a news flash for you... there are those of us girls/ladies out there that LOVE cars... I am proud to say that took second in the stock class at the Pontiac Southern Nat'ls this past weekend. I was also the only female with the nerve to roast 'em in the burnout competition!
My husband was cheering loudest, yet more nervous than I was, especially as I advanced. It is MY '98 TA so I DRIVE IT!!! People kept asking him if that was a girl out there and he beemingly said "yup, that's my wife!" Anyway, he gets to drive when we take his '64 Stingray out!
I think either you men need to look a bit harder and find ladies that share your interests so you can do things together, or you need to let them learn and share your hobbies. Now, I know that guys need their own things but the more she knows, the more she will trust you.
Anyway, you don't have to make excuses, maybe your ladies were like me and got kicked out of the garage by older brothers that said cars weren't for girls. Perhaps if you share your enthusiasm, and love for your hobby by showing her a thing or two then she just may WANT to register on the board too.
You may end up fighting for computer time, or even better, you could sit close and do it together...which could lead to more of those other things , which guys always like and usually don't ever turn down!
Just don't exclude her, racing is a rush, but I bet that this site can't do for you what she can! and if she can't ...... then dump her and find one that can!

J/K
I have met women who are into cars and other male dominated hobbies. They definitely are a rare and awesome find.
OfficerZ, how attached are you to "girlfriend"?

I know I am a rare breed - people have said they wish they could clone me I like most "guy" stuff. Cars (lifesize and diecast), Football or any other sport (except golf) for that matter, and I am not afraid to break a nail or be seen in public without make-up. (although I will put on a bit of lipstick)
Most girls are not like me. They think that you men will think they are stupid or silly if they ask questions, even if they have a deep down hidden desire to ask or to participate they may not because they are afraid of rejection. Cars are and have been ever since they were created a "guy" thing. Girls watched and stayed pretty and were just an accent to a guys car.
Just let her know how much you care about her and don't spend too much time on the computer - that is what caused my first divorce!... I was there and he actually preferred spending time on the computer than spending time with me. I have a girlfriend right now with the same problem. Her husband does nothing but play Mech games on-line. They never spend any time together. It is getting so that she is going out all of the time because he doesn't even know when she is home or not because of where his focus is -- the crazy computer.
One night just when she thinks you are neglecting her - flip the computer off and ravage her, that should help -- for a while at least.
About the computer thing, time management is the key. I try to look at LS1 tech at work (when the kido's are doing there assignments), or when trace is doing house work or running errands. I do give some, I went to a dance recital saturday for 3 hours with her instead of racing the Hot Rod. (yes my butt did hurt about 1 1/2 hours into it)
In relationships it is give and take(more give than take for most). I have been in enough relationships know that you need a women that will enjoy racing almost as much as you do to be happy IMO anyway.

Anyone ever try to race someone with the g/f or wife in the car? That's a BIG no no here! Anything over 3,000 rpms sets her off!
I'm right with you boys...
