anyone with a Dr Gas X pipe? i'm looking for an xpipe for my C5; MTI carries Dr Gas and will install on my car for $300 total.
any comments on this pipe? I'm leaning towards installing with retention of the stock cats. I'm not sure I want a true off-road setup and the extra noise and fumes.
any other good brands?

Re: anyone with a Dr Gas X pipe? i just got the x part and had a shop do the rest custom. i have pics of it when i took it off to paint it. takes me 5 minutes to take it off. its perfectly symmetric and looks very good. no pics on the car though <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> i could probly take one though.

Re: anyone with a Dr Gas X pipe? My setup includes MAC headers, Dr Gas x-pipe system, no cats, Dynomax bullet mufflers, and turndowns before the axle. I love it...car sounds mean. Very nice tone at idle and cruising. It screams at WOT.
A good setup for you would be x-pipe system, no cats, and Borla XR1 mufflers. That would be badass.

I'm leary of the offroad setup; will it make my car smell like gas? I'm also concerned with emissions and noise level. The MTI tech indicated the fumes would be minimal on a stock tuned LS6 and that 96 and up OBD2 cars do not require a sniffer test (only plug to computer to see if any codes have tripped; fixed with 02 sims).

Re: anyone with a Dr Gas X pipe? $300 installed is a great price!! Just the kit and extra bends and turn-downs - all mandrel - from Dr. Gas cost me $300...

Re: anyone with a Dr Gas X pipe? There will only be a smell for a day cause of the fresh welds and cause they're new pipes. Not sure about emissions in TX. We don't have that here in OK <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> The noise level will be fine. Very calm and smooth at idle and cruising, but under WOT, its loud as **** <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
