Default Dyna Batt - opinions?

I am thinking of getting the Dyna Batt and bracket for my 2002 Z28. For $300, is it worth it? How does the Dyna Batt hold up? Is it practical for a daily driver?

It is my understanding that the battery you are referring to-is for only track purposes only and not for the street. Battery does have the power to be used on a full time basis. Its sole purpose is to save weight at the track. Sometimes I have heard they die at the track. If it is worth $300 or not is strictly up to you? I do not own one and have no personal experience, but just the general information I have supplied. However, I have consider the possibility of buying one myself. Mayble someone else can add to this. Cheers.

I don't think it's practical for a daily driver. Just like Kent says, it's a lightweight battery for race conditions. I'd opt for a Optima if I were you. More practical and it looks sweet.

The bracket is in no way worth the money. Just make one yourself. You can use anything from a marine battery tie down to tiestraps.

I've had a dyna batt in my car for over a year! This is my daily driver, and I run an asp underdirve pulley.
Also, since I've put in a cam and raised my idle speed the battery is even happier.

I've only had to jump the car off once, and that was when it sat for a week in record low temperatures over the new years. No gremlins followed though
So, if you are looking to shead some weight and 170 bucks isnt too much to spend go ahead and get it.

Hey Mike,
Your response answered a question that has been bothering me for some time. I have wanted to get the Dynabat but was unsure if it would stay charged with an underdrive pulley, especially since I only drive the car a couple time a week.

Do you know if one this board's sponsers carries this battery? How much does it weigh?
Thanks alot,
John

Thunder does and it weighs 13lbs and I would also get the alternator overdrive pulley.

I got one used for $100 and made my own bracket for free. I drive on it every day and have never had to jump start the car. Just be really careful not to use any power with the engine off. If your running mid 11s its worth it, slower than that don't bother.

Would somebody explain to me how you can drive a car with alternator and ASAP pulley with the light battery without the car having charging problems. I am asking because I don't know the answer. I was told once that the alternator pulley on my A4 would keep the car from charging the battery. Is this so or not? If so--then the low amperage battery would even cause more problems base on this assumption. Mike or Bookerman's assistance would be appreciate. Kent.

Yeah I forgot to say that.
If you go to program the car make sure the headlights are off. You WILL kill the dynabat.
Same goes for the stereo.

Good luck
