Installing SLP LT Headers soon, need some tips and advice... I will be installing my SLP LT's soon with cats, and was wondering if any of you guys have a write up and/or tips on how to install them. Does SLP provide any type of instructions or am I on my own?
I currently have a SLP Drive Shaft loop, will I have problems with the Y-Pipe hitting it? Will I need to add some kind of spacers or will I be ok?

PLZ MAN, where did u get it or whatever, I need that, I did a post on it, no one could really tell me where to get one.....I'm getting slp LT's, I have the slp loudmouths, but I'm having someone install it for me, to save me trouble, it's $350 to install the headers, PLZ TELL ME WHERE TO GET THE CHROME STB FROM BMR!!!!!!

Re: Installing SLP LT Headers soon, need some tips and advice... The SLPs were a pretty easy install... most trouble I had was heating the Y-pipe to fit over the cats which wasnt hard. I did unbolt the tranny mount and it made life much easier.

Bill, I did a write up on this install guite some time ago over at the SLP forum, you might see if anyone over there can find the link to it. There were some pictures on the post but I think those are gone now, someone might have copied and pasted it to there computer so see if anyone has it. I think you'll find the post helpful when installing the headers, as for the loop I can't say for sure but I just installed one on a friends SS with the SLP y-pipe but no headers and the fit was fine. Re: Installing SLP LT Headers soon, need some tips and advice... Once you get the old manifolds off, it's pretty self-explanatory. One tip that helped me was to have assistant pull the transmission to the opposite side you are trying to install. Drop the trans cross member and just let the trans hang unsupported. My helper used a 2x4 and pryed against the end of the trans. This gave me enough room the wiggle the headers into place. Once you have the each header in place, have your assistant place the gaskets in and get one or two bolts in, all while you are still underneth the car holding the headers in place. After that it's all down hill.

Here's a picture of some tools that will make removing the plugs a lot easier.
