? regarding a catback system w/factory tips
have any of u installed a catback system but kept the factory tips or know someone who has? i met this one cat that did on his 98, installed a dynomax catback, but kept the factory tips. with a different airlid, cold air, n catback system, would the factory tips restict airflow from leaving the vehicle vice using the dual/dual, or 3" tips? just curious, cause i would like to make mods, but i like the look of the factory tips vice any of the aftermarket products. any advice is greatly appreciated.
thanks,

You should be able to retain them, any shop can weld them up for you. I could be wrong, but i don't see how they would be a restriction, very minimal if any.

Re: ? regarding a catback system w/factory tips
i appreciate the info, but i'm aware that i can get the tips welded back on to a catback system, but will the factory stock flat tips allow the same airflow as dual/duals, 3" slash tips, etc.? do any of u know where i could get a set that are chromed? factory flat tips of course.
thanks,

Re: ? regarding a catback system w/factory tips
Uhhh...I guess you could...but why would you want too?
FWIW my .02
All the stock tips look cheap, including the dual/dual...I know I have a dual/dual...great catback but the tips look cheap. To my eyes the stock WS6 are the very worse looking of all, to small for the rear valance. The stock T/A tips are pretty horrible too, look like cast lead or something, the Z28 stock tips are pretty lame too, and SS has the same tips as the WS6 but they don't look as bad on the SS as they do a WS6.
The Corsa and Borla tips are nice the other stuff pretty ugly.

Re: ? regarding a catback system w/factory tips
in reply to 99 T/A's response, and everyone elses, i want to get a catback, probly dynomax, and put the aftermarket stock tips, which are stainless steel by rk. i just think that all the other tips don't fit the profile of the camaro. the tips on the SS are cool, but other than that, i don't care much for the others, not sayin they look bad or sound bad, just my preference.
