This is long so bear with me..
The other day I changed the speakers in the SS since I somehow blew one front and one rear. Anyway, after I got them in I went to my friends house and noticed that the security light on the dash was on. It stayed on all day and thru the night. That was Sunday, Monday morning the light was off but starting the car was interesting.
I put the key in the ignition and turn to crank....nothing happens. No click, no starter turn, or anything. It is like the battery is completey dead. I let the key go back to the run position and then turn forward to crank again and the car turns over and starts. Weird huh? Anyway, I turn it off and try it again. Same thing happens. Now when I turn it to crank for the first time and then turn the key back to off position then forward again to crank nothing happens. It will only crank when I let the key back to run position then back to crank. If the key goes back to off I have to start the whole process over again.
Has ANYONE had this problem before? What did you do to fix it? Can I reset the PCM to clear the memory? For what reasons does the security light come on, and what would make it stay on?
Please help.

from what i understand there is a chip in the ignition key and it must match with something in the steering colunm? when these do not match the security light comes on and the car will not start. if this happens tree or four times you will have to take it to the dealer so they can reset the security system. this is the way that i understand how it works and may not be exactly right.
good luck
