Default Manifold install... broken sensor

accidentally broke this sensor when removing my intake... anyone else done this... anyone know how to remove the metal base of it? cant figure out if it just screws into the block or what



damn it...
sorry about the picture cant get it to work/get bigger

i circled in red the sensor at the top of the picture (back of engine)

its a cylindrical sensor

Must be the oil pressure sender you've got circled.

Yeah its the oil pressure switch. I did the exact same thing when I removed mine and had to get it order in from a dealership. You can remove it with a large socket 32 I think maybe smaller but to put the new one on you'll need a special deep socket the dealer should sell as well.

I havent broken mine! But maybe thats because I still have the LS1 Manifold! Dont feel too bad man, I've heard of it happening ALOT during intake swaps, the sensor itself should be around $60.

I can say the same. lol

I remember seeing the socket at autozone for cheap. I think ud be better buying the socket there than from the dealership unless you have a few extra bucks.

Sensor is about $22.00 at O'Reilly. Make sure you get the correct one. 98's are different than 99 up. Electric sensor hookup is different.

well i just got a breath of fresh air.... i was able to pick the sensor and socket up at vip for 30$ rather than the 60$ stated in a previous post

Broke mine when swapping my intake. Happens to almost everybody. i swore up and down i wouldn't break mine, then what?!? it BROKE. fixed for around 30 bucks. no worries.

I read so much about people breaking them, I paid extra special attention when removing & re-installing my intake!
