The WS6 lower airbox/radiator support offers the largest opening. If you car going to use it on anything other than a car with a WS6 hood... it will need to be modified to fit properly.

In what ways I have the stock SS hood now but am looking into the Ultra Z. What would need to be done? MTI has a lower lid should I just purchase that from them for the Camaro and then get a Direct Flo lid?

Default Lower Lids

What is the best lower lid to have? Firebird or just go ahead and throw some space in there with foam pieces/washers/ small children...?

You could raise, chop, and seal up your factory radiator support. Just take a look at it and it should become clear <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

So some T/A's and Forumla's can use without additional modifications. However, I think the stock lid and some of the other lids would have a problem unless modified even on a T/A or Formula. I don't think the WS6 air box will work with a stock Z28 or SS hood without modification.

Also I've been told and my dyno results back it up, the WS6 lower box isn't really worth anything...but it looks nice.

When my Formula still had the stock hood... the WS6 lower did not work. It's not a matter of camaro, SS, firebird.. it's differences in production.
